Retro Full Length Jumpsuit

I rushed this jumpsuit out for a family studio shoot. In was kinda an improvised outfit I managed to create without a pattern. It turned out very now. My husband’s colleague asked for one in her size LOL! I love it cos it’s oh so retro and keeps baby cool even on a warm summer day. She looks happy doesn’t she:)

The Oriental Dress

Here’s my version of the cheongsam spiced up with a juicy Japanese fabric called Candy Pop, chinese collar and cute little fabric buttons. Something different in an absolutely yummy fabric!

The basic pattern is Burdastyle, but I enlarged the neckline, removed/moved in the sleeve seams and added embellishment and a chinese collar to it. Ta da!

Reversible Retro Dress

Here’s my cute little 6-month old princess in her first reversible dress by mummy:) (Yes, I’m grinning!) I found it so irresistably cute with its round retro collar. This is very versatile, two beautiful dresses in one and can be worn on its own or over jeans. One side comes with a huge pocket while the other side retro belt details. Pattern by famed fabric designer Sandi Henderson.

UPDATE: Here’s my one-year old princess donning side B on New Years Day 2010.
And side A on a sunny day in Feb 2010. Oh how she has grown. The next time she should be wearing this dress as a top with jeans:) That’s how versatile it is.

This was such a fun dress to make that I couldn’t stop at one! Here’re more photos of variations made and I will update the list where possible.
